ResumeTailor (“we”, “us”) helps you tailor your resume to a specific job. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to delete it quickly.
Information we collect
Resume content: the resume file (PDF or DOCX) you upload, or the resume text you paste. We extract the text to tailor it.
Job details: the job description and any preferences you provide (tone, emphasis, target title).
Email address: collected at checkout so we can deliver your files and a receipt.
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage and attribution: basic information such as the page you arrived on and campaign tags (e.g. utm_source) so we can understand which marketing channels work.
How we use your information
To provide the service: parse your resume, compare it to the job description, generate an ATS-optimized rewrite and keyword-gap score, and deliver your downloads.
To communicate with you: send your tailored files, a payment receipt, and, only if you opt in, occasional job-search tips (you can unsubscribe at any time).
To improve and measure: understand aggregate usage and the performance of our marketing.
AI processing
To tailor your resume we send your resume text and the job description to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its commercial API. Under Anthropic’s API terms, this data is used only to generate your result and is not used to train their models.
How long we keep it
Your uploaded file is processed in memory and is never stored as a file on our servers.
Your resume text and the generated documents are tied to your order and are removed after your download window expires (72 hours by default).
We retain a minimal order record (such as email and payment status) as needed for receipts, support, and accounting.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time using the contact below.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details are submitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection and are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits and card brand.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage to remember referral codes and campaign attribution between pages. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of providers to operate: Anthropic (AI processing), Stripe (payments), our email provider for transactional email, and our hosting and database providers (Vercel, Railway, and Neon). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above, as needed to run the service, or where required by law.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, uploads are processed in memory, and files are deleted after your download window. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us using the email below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
ResumeTailor is intended for job seekers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
